Singaporeans seeking public housing will have more options in the upcoming July HDB sales launch. Over 4,600 balance flats will be offered, providing an alternative for those who did not succeed in previous BTO exercises. In addition, two BTO projects with significantly shorter waiting times – under three years – will be included in the launch, offering a faster route to homeownership. These projects are designed to address concerns about extended waiting periods for new flats. In a related development, HDB is adjusting its priority scheme for singles. Recognizing the evolving needs of the population, the board will be increasing the quota of flats allocated to single applicants in future sales exercises. This adjustment aims to provide singles with greater opportunities to secure housing and reflects a broader effort to ensure equitable access to public housing for all Singaporeans.
